Big news from the Heavy Montreal camp! More bands have been added to the lineup, including the one and only Twisted Sister! I might not be an official card-carrying member of the SMF, but I love Twisted Sister and defend their legitimacy almost as much as I defend KISS’. There is so much more to TS than “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock,” which have become points of mockery. For proof, just look at their 2003 performance of “Burn in Hell” at Wacken Open Air — and it’s not even during the height of their popularity:
I guess this coming August I’ll finally be able to cross Twisted Sister off my bucket list!
Twisted Sister isn’t the only band that’s been added to the Heavy Montreal 2014 lineup; they’ll be joined by Voivod, who’s promoting their latest album, Target Earth; Nashville Pussy, who’s promoting Up the Dosage; Beyond Creation, from Montreal; and The Motorleague, from Moncton, New Brunswick.
One more lineup update: The Offspring, who had been announced in the first wave of artists to play Heavy Montreal, have confirmed that they will be performing their legendary album Smash in its entirety! Smash turned 20 this past April 8th.
