Palms Release First Video, “Future Warrior”

After a summer of talk about Palms, the quartet featuring three members of ISIS and Chino Moreno from the Deftones, a June album release, and a string of live gigs, the band has finally released its first video.

The video for “Future Warrior” was directed by Jon Mancinetti and perfectly captures the dreamy, atmospheric tones of the band. There’s also a surprising extraterrestrial twist near the end of this beautifully shot California-based video… and while the narrative of this video might not make a whole lot of sense, the alien stuff makes perfect sense for the loonies out in California.

As mentioned, Palms played some dates earlier this summer, playing their first live shows in July with four headlining dates on the West Coast followed by a performance at the Hollywood Bowl, as System of a Down’s hand-picked openers.

Yes, we know Palms isn’t heavy, just like Opeth’s Heritage wasn’t. That doesn’t mean it isn’t within the genre per se, it does mean that we still gotta keep you in the loop of what’s going on.
