Did you ever wonder if Evil Dead 4 could happen? Jokingly, I have a number of times with my friends, but up until now I never considered it a real possibility. Now, during a recent press tour for Oz the Great and Powerful in London, Sam Raimi let the cannon loose on his thoughts about another sequel in the Evil Dead franchise, which could very well bring back Bruce Campbell, our favorite chainsaw-wielding Ash.
Fans of the original film and Bruce shouldn’t hold their breaths because the announcement isn’t official yet, however, Raimi did confirm that he plans to work on an Evil Dead 4 script later this year with his brother, Ivan.
Bleeding Cool noted the following from the press conference:
“I would love to make Evil Dead 4. My brother and I plan to work on the script this summer.”
Additionally, Raimi also said:
“I’m afraid that every time I talk about it people get really mad at me when I don’t follow through with it. I would like to work on the script over the summer, that much is true. But the reason to come back and do it again is only that they’re making me, those fans.”
So, isn’t this great news or what? With the remake of Evil Dead gutting toward its world premiere this month, I have a feeling we will hear a lot more about the remake directed by Fede Alvarez, including this thought-provoking sequel.
Stay tuned tofor more Evil Dead 4 updates.
