Following years and years of fan speculation, Kevin Bacon is finally returning as Valentine “Val” McKee in an upcoming Tremors TV series. That’s right horror hounds! Bacon is going to take on subterranean worm-creatures dubbed “Graboids” once again in a new show, courtesy of Amazon.

In an interview with Collider to promote the pilot episode, Bacon mentioned that the Tremors series is now in development at Amazon and that they are currently waiting for a fleshed out script from Andrew Miller. A Canadian writer and producer, known for Nothing (2003), The Secret Circle (2011) and Boys and Girls (2000).

Bacon said,

They went and made a bunch of sequels to the movie. I want to put those aside because, first of all, I wasn’t in them. But what I was really interested in was taking this guy and, 25 years later, seeing what happened to him, to his dreams, and to his life. Andrew Miller, who’s writing the script, came up with this really, really interesting take on it, and I think it could be a lot of fun.

At the moment, there’s no official word on who else is involved in the project, but we know for sure that Universal Cable Productions and Blumhouse are collaborating for the new series. Bacon is serving as the executive producer and expect to star as Val McKee, a fan-favorite character in the horror scene, which he last played over 25 years ago.

The Tremors series will most likely follow the events after the original movie since Bacon wasn’t attached to any of the four sequels.
