The man who stopped Anderson Silva’s reign in the middleweight division for six consecutive years won’t be getting his rematch with newly minted champion Luke Rockhold after all.
According to MMA Fighitng, Weidman was forced to withdraw from the main event of UFC 199 this week due to an injury. The report was initially confirmed by Talk MMA and there’s no word yet on the type of injury Weidman suffered in camp.
The UFC is still currently looking for a replacement fight for Rockhold. There’s talk that Ronaldo Souza and Michael Bisping are in the running for the shot at the title.
