This is a long way from Eli Roth’s 2002 Cabin Fever, and it may be unintentionally closer to Ti West’s 2009 comedic approach to the franchise with Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever — shit, it might even draw influence from 2002’s House of the Dead — but it still looks pretty damn promising. The caveat here is such that Cabin Fever: Patient Zero looks interesting only if you like low-budget movies using practical effects to the best of their abilities.
Oh, you might like it if you like bloodied up girls having a cat fight too, which is something you can see in the new clip in the player above. Go ahead, check it out, you know you can’t resist a good cat fight.
Directed by Kaare Andrews, the movie stars Sean Astin, Currie Graham, Ryan Donowho, Brando Eaton, Jillian Murray, Mitch Ryan, Solly Duran, Lydia Hearst, and Claudette Lali.
Cabin Fever: Patient Zero hits VOD on June 26th, followed by a theatrical release on August 1st.

A group of friends planned the perfect vacation in the Caribbean, but when they head ashore to explore a remote island, their ultimate bachelor weekend devolves into their worst nightmare. After an ill-fated swim in contaminated water, they stumble upon a seemingly abandoned research facility where a deadly, flesh-eating virus has been unleashed.
