Listen To What Slayer Has Been Up To – New “Implode” Single Is Here [VIDEO]

Slayer is pretty damn sneaky these days; they performed three unannounced songs last night at the 2014 Golden Gods Awards, and one of them was directly off their new studio album, which is being produced alongside producer Rick Rubin. It’s already been five years since their last song dropped, and “Imploded” gives us a good bloody taste of what Slayer will be like without legendary guitarist Jeff Hanneman. Gary Holt is now picking up the pieces with Paul Bostaph on drums since 2001’s God Hates Us All.

Is it any good? I leave that up to your judging since Slayer has gone through different sounds over the years, and everyone’s taste varies. However, it sounds like the Nuclear Blast label is fired up about working with Slayer, according to bassist/vocalist Tom Araya:

But today is a new day, record companies don’t play the kind of role they once did, and we really like the idea of going out on our own, connecting directly with our fans, and Nuclear Blast is fired up about taking on that challenge with us.

Hit the play button and bury yourself with “Implode”. The new untitled album will be released in early 2015, through Nuclear Blast Entertainment on their own.
