Insidious Chapter 3 Release Date Delayed To May 2015

Insidious: Chapter 3

The Insidious franchise is one of the kingpins of today’s supernatural horrors. Back in the day, movies like Dario Argento’s Suspiria, Poltergeist, and The Exorcist conquered the subgenre on VHS for many years, but James Wan managed to put a new twist on it and helped popularize again in the mainstream alongside fan favorite Paranormal Activity.

Will the third continue to be any good? That’s now all up to a new director.

James will no longer be directing the Insidious franchise since he’s moving away from horror for other projects outside his realm. Does Fast & Furious 7 ring a bell? This puts first time director Leigh Whannell in a challenging position because he’s going to deal with fan expectations on the third installment. Should we be worried? Not really because Insidious is far from anything new for Leigh since he wrote the two films. Plus, he collaborated with James before on other horror projects that includes the first Saw. Insidious Chapter 3 should be a breeze for Leigh, even if it’s the first time for him behind the camera. I’m sure his past experience in acting will also be sufficient enough to pull off an extremely scary Insidious.

As far as plot details go for the new sequel, well, there aren’t any at the moment. All we know is that Dermot Mulroney and Stefanie Scott will play a role in Insidious Chapter 3, and that the original release date has been moved to May 29th, 2015.
