Are you getting tired of zombie survival horror games from Capcom and Techland? If you are, then you may want to check out this announcement trailer for The Forest. Offering something different, this is a game inspired by cult films such as The Descent and Cannibal Holocaust and games like Minecraft and Don’t Starve.
From what we know, it’s a new type of survival horror game from developer Endnight Games that features lots of cannibals, mutants, and dangerous animals on a heavily forested island. Does that sound familiar at all? As a lone survivor of a plane crash, your main objective is to survive the dangers of the forest using your own decisions without any set missions or quests. The trailer above gives you a good taste of the graphics, gameplay mechanics, and creatures that you’ll encounter throughout the game. The Forest is expected to also support online multiplayer, which could add to the sense of randomness in the game.
The Forest is currently being developed for the PlayStation 4 and Windows PC.
