How To Live Well And Sound Like Golden Axe According To Conan, The Doom Band

Have you ever wondered what being scared of living badly sounded like? Does it sound like a lung cancer patient’s labored breathing? Does it sound like pneumonia because of years of alcohol abuse? Does it sound like nervous laughing? Or does it sound like doom metal?

In this case, it’s the latter. More specifically, it’s UK’s doom metal trio Conan and guitarist/vocalist Jon Davis, who said in his interview over at Noisey:

I’m not scared of dying— I’m scared of living badly. So I’m determined to live a good life now, and have fun.

Noisey is also streaming Conan’s upcoming fourth full-length album, Revengeance, in its entirety. The album will be released on January 29th, and can be pre-ordered here.

OK, the new Conan album might have some other sounds on it other than a fear of not living well, as Davis has also said:

Revengeance is the sound of hacking and slashing in Golden Axe, throwing coins into Gauntlet and still failing. Failure and triumph, sword and sorcery.

And stick around for “Earthenguard.” That’s one hell of a monstrous jam!

Revengeance Track Listing:

1. Throne Of Fire
2. Thunderhoof
3. Wrath Gauntlet
4. Revengeance
5. Every Man Is An Enemy
6. Earthenguard
