If you’ve seen Dario Argento’s latest film, Dracula 3D, you’re likely to fall into one of two categories: you’re either going to love it or hate it. Entertainment Weekly has called it a masterpiece and I’ve said that it looks like a Syfy film, at least that’s how I called it upon seeing the trailer. Even if Dracula 3D didn’t have the hallmarks of an awful movie, it’s a bit of a stretch to call it Argento’s masterpiece, which is arguably Suspiria.

You’ll have to make your own judgement on the merits of this film, which will become much easier to do come January 28, 2014, when the film comes to Blu-ray 3-D and Blu-ray. Keep in mind that some are saying Asia Argento’s bath scene make viewing the film worthwhile.

Dracula 3D (2012) – Synopsis:

The tale begins with Jonathan Harker, journeying by train and carriage from England to Count Dracula’s crumbling, remote castle situated in the Carpathian Mountains on the border of Transylvania. The purpose of his mission is to catalog Dracula’s massive library. At first enticed by Dracula’s gracious manner, Harker soon discovers that he has become a prisoner in the castle. He also begins to see disquieting facets of Dracula’s nocturnal life. One night, while searching for a way out of the castle, and against Dracula’s strict admonition not to venture outside his room at night, Harker falls under the spell of three wanton female vampires, the Brides of Dracula.
