We previously reported that James Wan’s final micro-budgeted horror film in the Insidious franchise is moving forward with another sequel without him while he’s busy with Fast & Furious 7. Don’t worry, though, Wan will continue to produce horror films like Crawlspace.
Insidious Chapter 3 will be penned by Leigh Whannell, who wrote the script for the first two installments. A new director has yet to be attached to the project, however, a date has been officially announced.
Insidious Chapter 3 is set for theatrical release on April 3rd, 2015 and will be distributed in the U.S. by Focus Features, an art house films division of NBCUniversal.
Jason Blum and his Blumhouse Productions will produce the next chapter along with Oren Peli. Steven Schneider, Brian Kavanaugh Jones, Peter Schlessel, Lia Buman, and Xavier Marchand are executive producing.
