Killswitch Engage Hits Hard With New Song, “The New Awakening”

It’s been just over a year since Jesse Leach rejoined Killswitch Engage, and we’re excited for the release of the new album, Disarm the Descent, due out April 2, 2013.

That date really isn’t far off, and KSE just released the second song from the upcoming album. “The New Awakening” is a full-throttle fist on the chin, hitting hard with relentless drums, awesome riffs, wicked and inspiring chants. Fuck, what’s not to like about the new KSE? Nothing, that’s what. Take a listen for yourself (above) if you don’t believe me.

Killswitch Engage released Disarm the Descent‘s first single last month. “In Due Time” is more relaxed than “The New Awakening,” and noticeably more melodic. As with most of what Leach writes, the lyrics are driven and motivational. Yeah, if these two tracks are any indication of what the new album will sound like, it’s going to be epic.

“No End In Sight,” also from the forthcoming album, leaked last summer. It was quickly pulled from YouTube, then the band performed it live, and it’s on YouTube again. The sound quality isn’t exactly here, but you can get a sense of the song’s intensity, not to mention Leach’s:
