UFC on Fuel TV: Gustafsson vs. Mousasi is headlined by a pivotal light heavyweight bout that could summon the next title contender as highly touted Swedish prospect Alexander Gustafsson will compete in his hometown against former STRIKEFORCE and DREAM Light Heavyweight Champion Gegard Mousasi. Gustafsson is currently riding a six-fight win streak that includes dominant performances over Matt Hamill, Thiago Silva, and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua. Fresh off a submission win over Mike Kyle at STRIKEFORCE’s final show only a few weeks ago, Mousasi is facing one of the division’s best in his first UFC stint. The event takes place on April 6th at The Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.
Jon Jones andwill certainly keep an eye on the Gustafsson and Mousasi matchup and eventually do battle at UFC 159, where a few other fights were confirmed that are sure to thrill. Heavyweights Cheick Kongo and Roy Nelson will surely trade punches until one man falls in a potential barn burner. STRIKEFORCE import Pat Healy makes his UFC debut against one of the promotion’s fiercest competitor’s, Jim Miller.
Coming off the toughest loss of his career against Vitor Belfort, Michael Bisping will look to rebound back into title contention against Alan Belcher. “The Talent” is also looking to get back into the win column after a grueling fight with Yushin Okami. Also on the card, Vinny Magalhaes was successful in calling out Phil Davis and they will meet in another important light heavyweight scrap.
