Summer-Slaughter-2013We’ve been rolling out lineup news about this summer’s metal festivals all week (Amnesia Rockfest, Mayhem, and Hellfest), and we’re not stopping now. As you’ve probably determined from the title, the lineup for the Summer Slaughter Tour 2013 has been announced. The seventh annual festival will run from July 19th through August 24th, with dates and locations pending.

Some Summer Slaughter/metal fans seem a bit disappointed with this year’s lineup. What are you thoughts on it? Are you planning to go?

Ash Avildsen, founder of Summer Slaughter, may have tried to assuage the wave of comments with the preemptive statement:

“It’s year seven and I think 2013′s lineup is the most exciting and diverse yet. Slaughter has never been a one dimensional experience for fans. This year is a true testament to that as we have an amazing mix of extreme music’s influential icons and leaders of the new school. Let the underground unite!”

Dillinger Escape Plan, Animals As Leaders, Periphery, Norma Jean, Cattle Decapitation, The Ocean, Revocation, Aeon, Abiotic, As They Burn, Dark Sermon, Erra, Fit for an Autopsy, Howl, Intervals, Into the Flood, King Conquer, Last Chance To Reason, My Bitter End, Nekrogoblikon, Rings of Saturn, Syqem, Soreption, Vektor, Today I Caught The Plague, Thy Art is Murder

There are two more bands that have yet to be announced, and as Summer Slaughter has done in the past, organizers are letting fans vote for the shows opener. You can cast your vote via the Summer Slaughter Facebook page.
