With Michael Fassbender attached to the lead role in the Assassin’s Creed movie, and CBS Films acquiring the rights for Deus Ex, has it not been an exciting week of announcements on game-to-movie adaptations? Hell yes it has, and it gets a lot more interesting today!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal Studios has teamed up Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan to rewrite the script for the God Of War movie. You know, the guys who wrote the last four gruesome entries in the Saw franchise. So, for anyone who thought the GOW movie was dead and buried, doesn’t this news give you chills down your spine? If not, don’t you dare call yourself a God Of War fanatic, because this is an excellent combination of creative minds that can actually deliver the brutality we expect in GOW, and nothing less.
Also, just another small reminder for you fine folks. The prequel to the original God of War trilogy, GOW: Ascension, will hit stores sometime in March, 2013.
