The Quiet Ones – Don’t Soil Your Shorts With This New Trailer

Honestly, I remember when a few other students and I did this very experiment in my freshman class at university. I’m the only one who survived, but, man, good times. It seems Hammer Films has taken inspiration from my reckless days and developed a film about them.

Not really, but Hammer Films has developed The Quiet Ones based on true events. I’m reminded of The Conjuring, which was a resounding success, and also based on true events. And if you think of scientific experiments that delve into supernatural territory, you might think of Flatliners, or any number of other films.

Check out the terrifying new trailer in the player above. It’s intense and compelling, I just hope they didn’t blow their wad on the trailer and left some surprises for us in the actual film, which comes to theaters on April 25, 2014.

Inspired by true events, The Quiet Ones is directed by John Pogue from a screenplay by Craig Rosenberg and Oren Moverman and John Pogue, and based on a screenplay by Tom de Ville.

The Quiet Ones Synopsis:

A university student (Sam Claflin of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) and some classmates are recruited to carry out a private experiment — to create a poltergeist. Their subject: an alluring, but dangerously disturbed young woman (Olivia Cooke of Bates Motel). Their quest: to explore the dark energy that her damaged psyche might manifest. As the experiment unravels along with their sanity, the rogue PHD students are soon confronted with a terrifying reality: they have triggered an unspeakable force with a power beyond all explanation.
