NIN “Everything” Streaming, But Is NIN Still Good?

Nine Inch Nails have just released the latest single, “Everything,” off of their latest album, Hesitation Marks. “Everything” is currently streaming over at NPR, so go there and check it out… or don’t. It’s not the best offering ever from NIN. Actually, it sounds like left over material from an ’80s new wave band, which I like, but this, when you expect NIN, is horrible. When Trent belts out “I have become something else,” all I can do is nod my head in agreement.

“Everything” is the third single from the album bearing a title much more NIN sounding than the music on it. Previous singles, “Came Back Haunted” and “Copy of A,” two songs that only slightly resemble the industrial rock past of NIN, but come off more like synth pop. Don’t get me wrong, the music is good, production is high, but it’s also standing in the shadow of a formerly great NIN.

After you check out “Everything” via the NPR link above and the two videos below, let us know what you think of the new NIN.
