Based out of Austin, Texas, Southern Front sounds like they’re going to be a force to be reckoned with. For proof of their intense heavy metal power, check out their recent video for the track “Face Down,” which comes off their late 2014 album, Death Throes. With enough musical proficiency to be considered a tech death band, Southern Front clearly has it’s roots in thrash metal and groove metal. And as you’re mesmerized by the Deliverance-like video, pay attention to the subtle bass leads during a couple of the song’s short breaks. You can thank me later.

We always strive to improve ourselves as songwriters and musicians as well as expand our sound while keeping it fresh and unique. We feel like we’ve accomplished that with the new album Death Throes. The songs each have their own identity and sound different musically but the common theme lyrically is consequence. Even when you’re in the throes of death, you still have to live with what you’ve done and everything you’ll leave behind.
