Nearly 20 years since their debut release, 1996′s In the Streams of Inferno, Norway’s Mysticum is preparing to release their long-awaited second album, Planet Satan, on Peaceville Records. The album will hit on October 27th, and brings together the core members Herr General Cerastes, Svartravn, and DrBest.

Kicking things off to the lead up is the release of the album’s incredible sci-fi-meets-occult cover art, seen above.

Peaceville Records has commented on the impending black metal release:

There is truly no other band quite like Mysticum. A perfect concoction of cold, primitive black metal and forward-thinking ideas from an act unafraid to push boundaries, the hell of In the Streams of Inferno has had a lasting and profound impact on many since 1996, and so it is finally time to welcome the return of Mysticum with the long-overdue arrival of Planet Satan to infect the masses once more.

Stay tuned for more information on Mysticum and Planet Satan.
