Monsters Scare You isn’t normally the type of band we cover on Yell! Magazine, but their new video for “Give Me Some Sugar Baby” had some pretty cool elements; elements that we do cover.
Now, some are calling Monsters Scare You a post-harcore/electro band, but what I see is a metalcore/emo band that’s a bit more mature than the usually acts in the genre. The synth in the track does add a nice electro vibe though.
Since the song is less impressive than the video, let’s focus on the positive. The video features a sexy tattooed girl who gets murdered, I presume. It’s a little vague, but there’s blood and clear plastic sheeting used to wrap up the body. Since body bags aren’t clear plastic, I imagine this is a crime of passion and the perpetrator needs to dispose of the body. Ah, love.
Monsters Scare You will release Die A Legend on July 9th, vie Century Media.
