Last month, we brought you the crushing new track, “The Metal East,” from the Rhode Island noise duo, Lightning Bolt. Now, you can hear the band’s new album, Fantasy Empire, in its entirety over at NPR. This is Lightning Bolt’s first album in six years, and it will drop on March 24, 2015, via Thrill Jockey.
In addition to standard formats, Thrill Jockey is offering a limited pressing of 300 deluxe double LP versions on black-and-white swirl vinyl. Pre-order packages are available at here.
Lightning Bolt will hit the road for a spring tour of the U.S. in support of Fantasy Empire. Set to commence on April 15th, in Buffalo, the pair will trounce 29 cities on a cross-country live invasion with the concluding show to take place on May 17th, in Cambridge. Lightning Bolt will be joined by Canadian noise rock unit Metz, as well as New York black metal collective, Liturgy, on select dates.
