Faith No More has just released a new single from their upcoming album, Sol Invictus (May 19th, Reclamation Recordings/Ipecac Recordings). “Superhero” premiered over at Marvel.com, for obvious reasons, but we have it in the player above for your convenience. Marvel.com also has an interview with Bill Gould, who says of the track:

‘Superhero’ actually just started from the sound of the song, where it has these pounding drums and it has like this throbbing kind of pulse, and we just called it the ‘Superhero’ song. Because, a lot of the ways we write we visualize things.

Faith No More has also revealed the cover art for Sol Invictus, which features an image from Ossian Brown, a member of Coil and Cyclobe, who also published the book Haunted Air, in 2010.

The song made its worldwide radio premiere last night on BBC Radio 1’s Rock Show with Dan Carter.
