Earlier this week, we dropped some news that Fright-Rags is bringing a new Nightbreed t-shirt collection to life starting this Friday, but we completely forgot to mention that Scream Factory will unleash the long-awaited Nightbreed: The Director’s Cut on Blu-ray later this month. A version that is entirely different than the one which was released in theaters in 1990.
The Director’s Cut is 20 minutes longer than the theatrical cut, but it contains over 40 minutes of new and altered footage. It’s the version Clive Baker wanted you to see from the very beginning. Baker personally made sure the reconstruction and edit would tell the story right this time. In addition, the entire film also received a brand new sound mix and color pass.
Nightbreed: The Director’s Cut Blu-ray hits store shelves on October 28, 2014.
