Venom is among heavy metal’s most influential bands, spawning an entire subgenre (Black Metal). Without a doubt, the band is among metal’s elite. However, prior to their debut release, Welcome To Hell, they were rejected by the EMI label. Big deal, right? Tons of bands get rejected multiple times before getting signed. Yeah, but this unsigned rejection letter is the best of the worst! Sent circa 1980, it simply reads, “Dear Venom, Fuck Off.”
The letter was uncovered by producer/journalist Bart Gabriel back in late 2013.
