Most people are probably bemoaning the next film in the Paranormal Activity franchise, but from the trailers I’ve seen it seems as though director Christopher Landon (writer of Paranormal Activity 2 through 4) has managed to keep the fear domestic while expanding the franchise’s universe. I skipped the last film because it looked like more of the same, but I’ll be damn sure to check out Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones simply because it appears to be taking a different trajectory than the previous films.
Fangoria has an exclusive clip today, December 28th, which you can view in the player above. In the clip, which doesn’t really show much, we get to see Jesse’s transformation from the time he shows the first signs, what appears to be a bite mark, until… well, it’s sure that it’s not the final stage of his transformation, but there’s no doubt that he’s not the teen he once was.
Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones hits theaters on January 3, 2014.
