Holy Shit! Director, screenwriter, and producer Robert Rodriguez is launching a new cable TV network in partnertship with Univision called El Rey Network, and it’s expected to launch by 2014. The English-language network will develop a mix bag of reality, scripted and animated series, movies, music and sports programming targeting a Latino audience. El Rey Network will also have an initial nation-wide distribution with Comcast, the largest cable company in the U.S..

In addtion, Rodriguez already has plans to turn his second Hollywood feature film From Dusk Till Dawn into a TV series since he unveiled that it will be the first original scripted production for El Rey Network. Although, there were a number of direct-to-video sequels over the years, the series will explore and expand on the characters and story from the first film, and it will be written, produced and directed by Rodriguez.

Lastly, Production Weekly reported that production for the TV series will start in mid-October in Austin, Texas. However, no actor is attached to the project yet, but casting will start soon.
