Sounding like a jet engine in a closed warehouse, Portland’s Big Black Cloud is hitting us hard today with two new tracks from their forthcoming EP, Lessons in Fuck You 2.
First up is the EP’s sixth track, “Exotic.” The track is streaming over at End Hits, where they’re calling the album, “a great collection of looser off-hand bits and instrumental excursions, all loud and mad and splattery, in the finest Big Black Cloud tradition.”
Next up from Lessons in Fuck You 2 is the closer, “Open Eye/Yadnus Kcalb.” You can check this one out over at Cvlt Nation, where they are stating, “these outergalactic space punks are bringing the noise to the vacuum of your mind!”
Personally, I prefer “Open Eye/Yadnus Kcalb,” which has a Sonic Youth feel to it. However, the press release tells me that the noise is a collision of Dead Kennedys, Circus Lupus, Cows, Alice Donut, and Nation of Ulysses. Have a listen and decide for yourself.
