Sweden’s Freak Kitchen have released a new video for the track “Freak of the Week.” The song appears on the band’s recently released (September 16th) eighth album, Cooking with Pagans.

The song itself is a lot of fun with its references to modern technologies and such, and the musicianship is blazing, but it is something that’s well-suited for active rock stations. Also, I very nearly spit up my lunch when I saw the price tag for the animated video, $150,000 raised through Kickstarter. Then I watched the Juanjo Guarnido-directed video, and I understood: This thing is awesome!
The video definitely has a Dethklok-meets-Heavy-Metal-meets-Dragon’s-Lair video game feel to it. And obviously the old freak show footage cuts are awesome!
