nervecell - psychogenocide reissue

Dubai-based death/thrash metal unit, and recent Unique Leader signees, Nervecell, will reissue their critically lauded Psychogenocidefull-length next year.

Initially released via Lifeforce Records in 2011, Psychogenocide was produced and engineered by Rami H. Mustafa at Spellbind Studio in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with drums engineered by Joe Haley at Red Planet Studios in Australia, then mixed and mastered by Wojtek and Slawek Wieslawscy at Hertz Studios (Behemoth, Vader, Decapitated) in Bialystok, Poland. The album features a guest vocal appearance by Nile’s Karl Sanders on the song “Shunq (To The Despaired… King Of Darkness)” and reaped mass approval from major media outlets globally. Metal Hammer championed the band’s, “…thrilling contrast between oriental and musical culture,” furthering that, “these elements don’t collide, they complement each other.” Legacy extoled, “an amazing oriental death-ax and a must have for every metal hornet,” while The Metal Observer gushed, “it’s quite the quandary to find an even remotely average track on Psychogenocide. Nervecell’s latest is a death metal album that succeeds in part to its strong focus on memorability and song structure. Things work exceedingly well from start-to-finish…”

Adds the band in a collective statement:

Psychogenocide is an album about manipulation and the deception of the human race for an agenda of a higher purpose. A modern approach to the old-school death/thrash metal sound, that is both technical yet melodic and full of the Nervecell signature Middle Eastern twist.

Psychogenocide Track Listing:

1. Anemic Assurgency
2. Upon An Epidemic Scheme
3. All Eyes On Them
4. Amok Doctrine
5. Psychogenocide
6. Imprint
7. Shunq (To The Despaired…King Of Darkness)
8. The Taste of Betrayal
9. Driven By Nescience
10. Nation’s Plague

About Nervecell:

Forged in 2000 as one of the first extreme metal bands to emerge from Dubai, and having toured alongside legendary metal acts such as Metallica, Morbid Angel, Deicide, Decapitated, and Suffocation, Nervecell are true torchbearers for a Middle Eastern wave of metal. The band released their debut full-length, Preaching Venom, in 2009 via Germany’s Lifeforce Records (Europe) and Spellbind Records (Middle East) followed by their critically adored Psychogenocide long player just two years later.

Their unique blend of Middle Eastern death/thrash and a reputation for debilitating action-packed live performances helped pave their way to playing some of Europe’s most renowned festivals, including Wacken Open Air, With Full Force, Rock AM Ring, Rock IM Park, Summer Breeze, and Brutal Assault. The widespread success of Psychogenocide also awarded Nervecell the honor of being crowned the “All Time Best Selling Metal Act” in the Middle East and North Africa region, consequently receiving a plaque of recognition from Virgin Megastores (MENA) in January of 2012, certifying this huge accomplishment. Psychogenocide was also lauded as one of the “Top 10 Death Metal Albums Of 2011” by media outlets globally including Metal Hammer Magazine, who named Nervecell one of the “Defenders Of The Faith,” listing the band as one of the “50 Heroes Of The New Metal Revolution.”

Psychogenocide will be reissued on January 27, 2015, via Unique Leader Records with pre-orders to be announced in the coming weeks. In the meantime, check out various studio clips as well as live footage from the band’s pummeling performance at Kaltenbach Open Air below:
