Production on Season Two of Stranger Things kicked off last week during a script reading session with the young actors. The news was revealed entirely upside down via a photo on Facebook.
Today, it appears like new actors have been added to the cast. According to EW, Sean Astin, Paul Reiser, and Danish actress Linnea Berthelsen will all appear in Season Two. Austin, known for Toy Soldiers, Rudy, and Lord of the Rings will play Bob Newby, a former nerd who went to high school with Joyce (Winona Ryder) and Hopper (David Harbour). The character currently manages a local Hawkins RadioShack.
Reiser will play Dr. Owens, “a high-ranking member within the Department of Energy on a ‘clean-up’ assignment, tasked with containing the events of last year.” Finally, Berthelsen has been cast as Roman, an “emotionally damaged, magnetic young woman who suffered a great loss as a child. Although she does not live in Hawkins, she is mysteriously connected to the supernatural events at the lab…”
Stranger Things Season 2 airs on Netflix in 2017.
