Technology’s great, and I don’t want to put it down, but I just don’t know that it’s going to have the history for people. Because you can still own a record that you had when you were a kid, and you can even smell the record and go, ‘that reminds me of that summer when I bought this record.’ There’s all these memories attached. Even in the movie there’s significance attached to the physical being of a record. Whereas no kid’s going to look at his iPod in 40 years and go, ‘Remember when I got this iPod Mini? Those were the days, my friend!’ It’s all so disposable… I mean obviously to each generation it’s different. They don’t care because they can’t miss something they’ve never had. I think that objects having significance is becoming a thing of the past anyway.
