The biggest talk at the moment in the world of MMA, including boxing, is the superfight between Floyd Mayweather and. Many believe it will be a one-sided fight in favor for Mayweather, however, McGregor’s boxing coach thinks he will “put him away.”
In an interview on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani on Monday, boxing coach Owen Roddy said McGregor will KO Mayweather in August at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
I think he’s gonna put him away, I think he’s gonna KO him. I think it’ll take a couple of rounds. And I know my phone is about to explode, I’m sure. But look, Conor does these things. He does these exceptional things all the time. If he says he’s gonna go in and knock him out, I think he’s gonna go in and knock him out.
Roddy also mentioned that McGregor’s power in his hands is equivalent to a middleweight fighter, so Mayweather will experience “wobbly legs” after a couple rounds.
Conor hits like a middleweight. You can ask any of the middleweights in our gym. He hits as hard, if not harder. It’s strange. He’s got cat-like reflexes. He’s so quick on his slips and his pulls. He’s very accurate as well. I think he’s gonna slip and fire and Mayweather will be on wobbly legs. It might be a counter, too. That’s what I see. That’s what I see in my head.
Mayweather vs. McGregor is scheduled for 12-round boxing fight with 10-once gloves on August 26th. The entire fight card will be dedicated to boxing.
