It’s an unconventional choice to cast Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network, Zombieland) as the infamous Lex Luthor in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but it’s been an odd casting call since the addition of Ben Affleck as Batman.
Why is Eisenberg an odd choice? If you haven’t noticed, while he’s awesome, he’s also meek and weak. He’s not exactly arch nemesis to Superman pedigree. But, Mr. Snyder had a couple words about that in the Entertainment Weekly reveal:
He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure. Other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course….Our Lex is disarming and he’s not fake. He says what he believes and he says what’s on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it’s all there.
Eisenberg joins the cast that already includes Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jeremy Irons, Jena Malone, Holly Hunter, and Scoot McNairy. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hitting theaters on March 25, 2016.
