Borgman, the Dutch film from writer/director Alex van Warmerdam (Voyeur, Grimm), looks completely engaging, if not like a story inspired by Stephen King in his prime. Check out the two-and-a-half-minute U.S. trailer that was unleashed today in the player above. Also, see the creepy one sheet below. Then, because you’re just wanting more now, look for Borgman this June 6th.

Judging from the trailer, the synopsis on IMDB hardly does this film justice: “A vagrant enters the lives of an arrogant upper-class family, turning their lives into a psychological nightmare in the process.” Much better is this one that’s circulating:

Borgman Synopsis:

Borgman is the central character in Alex van Warmerdam’s dark, malevolent fable. Is he a dream or a demon, a twisted allegory or an all-too-real embodiment of our fears? Borgman is a sinister arrival in the sealed-off streets of modern suburbia. His presence unleashes a crowing gallery of distortion around the careful façade constructed by an arrogant, comfortable couple, their three children, and nanny.
