Over the week, Invicta Featherweight Champion Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino declared that she finally has plans to face the consequences from her new diet and training to drop down to 135 from 160 pounds to square off withBantamweight Champion in the very near future. Cyborg recently revealed that her most recent weight cut for Lion Fights 14 was the easiest in her career, and it sounds like she can go a little further for her dream fight.
I normally walk around at 160. This is the first time I made 145 with no sauna and no [problems]. First time. My diet changed, my training has changed, and you know, for the first time I was scared, because always before my fights I suffer so bad.
But I did very good work, trained hard. I did everything healthy
Although, the UFC still hasn’t signed a contract with Cyborg, nothing is officially set in stone until she makes the weight cut. If she does in healthy manner, the No.1 MMA organization in the world will have no choice, but make the match happen in my opinion. Why? Because Cyborg is still undefeated in MMA and the fans want this more than a glamour fight with Gina Carano.
Cyborg faced Jorina Baars on Friday at Lion Fights 14, she suffered her first loss in her short Muay Thai career, but it was a positive experience for a clean and healthy weight cut. An experience Cyborg will most likely benefit from for a potential bout with Rousey.
By the way, Cyborg vs. Baars was amazing, so check out the full fight above, if you have 20 minutes to spare. Enjoy!.
