Kill Matilda Post New Video, “Law Abiding Citizen”

Remember Kill Matilda? The hard-rockin’ punk band out of Vancouver, BC, that we loved so much way back when? Well, they’re back with a new video and an upcoming EP. Not that they’ve been lazy in the last couple years, they’ve actually been pretty busy recording and touring, leaving a trail of their blood, sweat, and tears behind them. The lineup has changed, vocalist Dusty Exner has changed her hair color, and the band has had some setbacks, but they’re still hungry for road dirt and your blood on the floor.

What we liked, and still like, about Kill Matilda is the honest horror-inspired punk in the vein of The Misfits and Ramones. These influences are capitalized on in the new video for “Law Abiding Citizen,” a track from the upcoming, six-song EP #Punk#Zombie#RocknRoll’. The EP features tracks from their 2011 full-length album I Want Revenge with an acoustic rendition of “Geisha With A Switchblade” and will be accompanied by a comic book created by vocalist/guitarist Dusty.

After a small hiatus due to health issues from a tumor in a carotid artery and an Ectopic pregnancy, Kill Matilda hasn’t let the odds against them stop them from an ass-kicking mission to Punk, Zombie and Rock n’ Roll across Canada (tour dates listed below).

Dusty stated:

I have a guitar, I have a microphone. One week out of my hospital bed, I will meet you onstage.

Also in the plans for later this year, the band will be releasing their yet-to-be-titled follow-up EP produced by Garth Richardson. On having Richardson on board, Dusty said:

The amazing attention of Garth Richardson! Although this man has produced so many amazing albums and we’re not the only band getting some attention and love, he took the extra steps to personally engineer our new album, which is something he has not done in like 10 years or something. That makes me feel very, very special.
