Caliban Launch “Devil’s Night” Video – Is That A Bearded King Diamond?

Honestly, the song isn’t that bad, meaning I’ve heard worse. You may love it, and that’s totally cool, but please hear out my complaints.

Visually, I can’t take this German metalcore band seriously. First, why make a video for your song “Devil’s Night” if you’re not going to capitalize on the song’s title? This video, in the player above, deserves more film and less band playing. Sure, Caliban is playing in a church instead of the usual warehouse, but still.

Second, I can’t take any band seriously if they bounce around like they’re all standing on a Pogo Bal.

Third, the track opens up with way too many gravity blasts and the video’s director chose to match those blasts with too much “shaky” cam work.

Fourth, and final point: is that King Diamond with a hipster beard? If you’re gonna rip off a heavy metal icon, shave the beard — it just looks horrible, not ironic. In fact, the whole band looks like a bunch of hipsters trying to be ironic. This is not heavy metal.

This is the worst video I’ve seen in 2014 so far and this is the worst song I’ve heard in 2014 so far. Let us hear your comments below.

“Devil’s Night” comes off of Caliban’s upcoming album, Ghost Empire, which is set for release on February 4. The band recently announced tour plans for Ghost Empire, set to start in May 2014. They will be heading out on the next edition of the Progression Tour 2014. Don’t miss your chance to see CALIBAN on one billing with The Ghost Inside, The Devil Wears Prada, I Killed The Prom Queen, and Breakdown Of Sanity.
