Motörhead – Aftershock (2013) Album Review

Artist Motörhead Album Aftershock Year Released: 21 October 2013
Label UDR GmbH Genre Heavy Metal

Motörhead‘s 21st studio album, Aftershock (released 21 October 2013), starts off with a bang! What else would you expect? It’s Motörhead, damn it, a band that just seems to have that ability to go, “BAM! Here’s some music for you, now fucking rock out!”

Despite all of his health issues, Lemmy doesn’t seem to be giving up anytime soon. While pushing nearly 70 years of age, struggling with diabetes and an irregular heartbeat (yes that’s why Lemmy has been out of the game lately), Lemmy isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. The man has Jack Daniel’s and speed coursing through his veins for Christ’s sake. Earlier this year, just in case the Jack and speed fail him, he had a pacemaker inserted to help with his health issues.

End Of Time by Motörhead on Grooveshark

Starting off with a bang, Aftershock opens with “Heartbreaker,” a fast-paced song to get you going. While continuing to put you in the mood to rock out, a few songs later, Motörhead slows the pace just briefly. One has to change the mood once in a while to show variety. Without a blink of an eye, Motörhead quickly speeds up the pace yet again with “End of Time.” While maintaining their rock ‘n’ roll style, Motörhead brings you 14 tracks of superior music. No other band will ever come close to the stature that Lemmy and Motörhead has created.

The Verdict:

Lemmy seems to have that sound that always gives away his style, which is the crunch of distortion in his bass and that ever legendary voice. Motörhead has released yet another epic album and I highly encourage you to go make that purchase now. I promise you, you will not be disappointed.
