What is this, you ask? According to the fine folks over at PlayStationGang.com, “it has been confirmed that you will be able to connect the PlayStation 4 to the Xbox One’s HDMI port and stream the PS4 through the Xbox One.”
In separate statements, Sony and Microsoft confirmed that there were no blocking systems in place that would prevent this compatibility. They did so without mentioning the other company or gaming console.
At Microsoft’s TGS presentation, Xbox Senior Director of Product Management and Planning Albert Penello explained that if gamers want to, they can play Ryse and Killzone at the same time. The thing you have to pay attention to here, is that Killzone is a PlayStation exclusive, which means that you can stream your PS4 through your Xbox One.
It’s just a weird bit of news that doesn’t really change anything since you’ll still need the PS4 console to play PlayStation exclusive games and vice versa. To me, it’s kind of like using iTunes on my Windows computer… big whoop.
