Dana White previously said “he’s not gonna be healthy until January.”(29-13-1) will meet former Light Heavyweight Champion Rashad Evans (18-3-1) at UFC 167, however, the feud he stirred with long-time rival Wanderlei Silva (35-12-1) isn’t going away anytime soon. Both of them have trash-talked each other plenty in the past, and it sounds like “The Axe Murderer” wants to settle the score once and for all after he fully recovers from unknown injuries. In fact, Silva told MMA Fighting that he’s already back to training he said he is ready for “war time” if he gets a call from the UFC:
I’m back to training already, and I will be ready to fight soon. I don’t know if I’ll be able to fight this year, depends on what happens. With the way things are going now in the UFC, you have to be ready to fight anytime they call you. During war times, you have to keep your guns always clean.
When Silva is 100% ready to step inside the Octagon, which will most likely be next year since all the fight cards are pretty much booked until December, he will want to destroy Sonnen in front of his friends in Oregon:
I talked to the boss and said that I can fight Sonnen in Brazil or in Oregon. I want to beat him in front of all his friends. I want them to watch how bad I will destroy him. I’d be down to fight in his backyard. You can call all his friends. I want Sonnen to feel ashamed of how bad he’ll be beaten by me.
Silva also confirmed that he plans to face Sonnen regardless if he loses to Evans on the co-main event at UFC 167 in November. He predicts Evans will beat him in a lopsided bout and hopes to fight a healthy Sonnen after that loss.
