UFC 165: Jones vs. Gustafsson is just a few days away, taking place on September 21, 2013, at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Canada, and while most people are anticipating the main event, you shouldn’t miss this shit-talking pre-fight interview. The two friends, Matt Mitrione and Brendan Schaub, will come head-to-head on Saturday for a heavyweight bout, but until then there are some big words being thrown around. Hopefully nobody’s feelings get hurt.
Both Schaub (9-3 MMA, 5-3 UFC) and Mitrione (6-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) are former NFLers who transitioned to the UFC via TUF 10 under coach Rashad Evans. Both fighters know the style of the other, Matt being the explosive quick finisher and Brendan being the endurance fighter. So it may come down to who controls the pace of the fight, as Brendan said, “It’s going to be my night and I’m going to dictate the pace of the fight for sure.”
