GameStop‘s Senior Vice President of Merchandising Bob Puzon just contradicted publisher Activision on pre-order sales for the upcoming Call of Duty: Ghosts. Back in August, Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg stated that pre-orders are “well below” the record-breaking pace of Call of Duty: Black Ops II because it’s a transition year for consoles, he noted. Even though there isn’t any actual fact on whether or not Ghosts will set a new record, the game is still on track to be the most pre-ordered title of the year, according togame retailer GameStop.
Call of Duty is an entertainment juggernaut and cultural phenomenon. We are excited for the upcoming release of the new installment of this blockbuster franchise, Call of Duty: Ghosts. We look forward to celebrating the worldwide November launch of this great game that is on track to be the most pre-ordered title of the year.
In addition, GameStop, in partnership with Activision, also announced that they will offer a discount price for Eminem’s new album The Marshall Mathers LP 2 to those who pre-order COD: Ghosts, which launches at the same time as the album. A code will be given at launch that will allow buyers to download a special edition of the album for $9 redeemable until November 19.
COD: Ghosts will be released for the, Xbox 360, Windows PC, and Wii U on November 5, 2013, and will be published in Japan by Square Enix on November 14, 2013.
