*UPDATE: It appears that Dana White denies any offers made to Nick Diaz. According to a text message to MMA Fighting, White wrote, “Nobody at the UFC talked to Gracie or anyone else that reps Nick.”
For the moment, former Nick Diaz is officially retired in MMA. Although, he recently launched his own promotion called WAR MMA, the Stockton bad boy already has an offer on the table after his loss to barely four months ago. Which is the shortest retirement I’ve ever heard of in the history of the sport, but it’s all true since the source is coming directly from his longtime trainer Cesar Gracie., WEC, and IFC Welterweight Champion
“[Diaz] just got back (from Las Vegas) a couple of days ago. There is an offer on the table, that’s all I can say,” Gracie revealed to BJPenn.com on Wednesday.
He also added,
“It’s something everyone is looking at right now and discussing with him. Dana (White) has offered him a fight. There is an offer on the table, I can’t say who it is, but it’s kind of neat I think. But no decisions have been made for sure.”
If Diaz accepts the offer, the big question now is when will the UFC make an official announcement, and who will face him inside the Octagon? Reports are already suggestion Demian Maia, Tarec Saffiedine, or Josh Koscheck. All of them currently have no scheduled opponent to fight.
