Lamb of God’s frontman, Randy Blythe, is currently on trial. As you well know, Blythe was detained in the Czech Republic last year on charges of manslaughter. The charges were a result of a fan who sustained injuries at a Lamb of God concert and later died. Reportedly, Blythe pushed the fan off the stage.
On February 4, Blythe addressed the court, stating that he did return to face his trial, as he’d promised. Also,
“The death of a fan is heartbreaking. I’m not a man who runs from his problems, but I do not wish to be punished and suffer the consequences of an act I did not commit.”
“I never saw Daniel and I never came in contact with him.”
Drummer Chris Adler and band manager Larry Mazer have also testified, stating that Blythe is quiet and well read, and that his aggressive stage persona is part of the show.
The trial is expected to run through till the end of the week. If convicted, Blythe is facing a potentially long-term jail sentence. The victim’s parents are seeking $530,000 in compensation.
