Vin Diesel, the man who is most famous for his role as Riddick has recently revealed via his Facebook a new still from Riddick: Dead Man Stalking, an upcoming summer blockbuster that is slated for September 6, 2013. This isn’t the first time Diesel has kept his fans in the loop on Riddick and from the sound of things; it won’t be the last either since we still got many more months to go before the official release. The filming for Riddick was wrapped up a few months ago, and it is currently in post-production, as of April 2012. Universal also announced not too long ago that the sci-fi film will be released in the IMAX format when it hits theaters.
“The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.
The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won’t leave the planet without Riddick’s head as their trophy.”
In addition to the details above, Riddick is the only film we know of being released during that week in September, so it should do pretty good in terms of box office numbers. David Twohy once again directed and wrote the script for all three films in the series, which stars Vin Diesel and Karl Urban as Vaako.
