Thiago Silva’s Contract With The UFC Has Been Terminated

Thiago Silva

The UFC has a change of heart for Mr. Thiago Silva after a series of videos popped up online showing him in a state under drug influences and carrying a gun. Silva’s ex-wife Thaysa Kamiji released them to the public after he called her a liar during a live interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour on Monday.

Earlier this month, several charges Silva was facing were dropped for a violent incident that involved Kamiji and her partner in Florida. According to Kamiji, she skipped trial because she didn’t want to risk losing her new job in Abu Dhabi that would give her an opportunity to restart her career with the man of her life.

I dropped (the restraining order) so I wouldn’t have to come back to trial and risk losing my job, so I ended up helping Thiago. But I was pissed off when he decided to open his mouth. He should be thanking me, but people never change.

Kamiji admits she helped Silva out by skipping the trial, but feels he hasn’t changed since the incident. This time the Zuffa owned banner had no choice but terminate Silva’s fight contract with UFC again.

Thiago Silva was released from his UFC contract on Feb. 7 due to his arrest by police in South Florida. The charges against Silva were dropped by the Broward County District Attorney’s office and Silva was re-signed to the UFC earlier this month. Based on new information received today in the form of video and audio evidence, Silva has been terminated from his UFC contract.
