It’s true, horror hounds; a TV series based on Dario Argento‘s 1977 classic, Suspiria, could be coming to the small screen as Suspiria De Profundis. With Argento serving as the series’ artistic supervisor, the plan is for a 12-episode season, each running 50 minutes. Of course, if all goes well there will be additional seasons.

On the project, Argento commented:

The extraordinary freedom of expression and creativity that modern TV drama now offers and the interest that the public has shown towards it have encouraged me to take a stab at this new genre.

Fans will recognize the series’ title, Suspiria De Profundis, as the title of the book by Thomas De Quincey, from which Argento based his film. According to, “the show will be an English-language period horror series in which the author De Quincey is the lead character. Styled as a new Sherlock Holmes, the story will explore psychological fantasies of evil and attempt to solve fearful mysteries. It will be set in London and Rome at the turn of the 20th century.”

So, Yellers, is this something that you’re interested in seeing?
