Noctum In The “Temple Of The Living Dead”

Only the Swedes would think to combine doom with thrash. While that’s not entirely true, it is rare, and newcomers, Noctum, do a fine job of doing just that.

Noctum will drop their Metal Blade debut, Final Sacrifice, on October 29, 2013. Today, however, the band has made their latest lyric video available for fans and curious onlookers to get fired up over. “Temple of the Living Dead,” as said, is a wicked combination of doom and thrash. The riffs are huge, the vocals are high and haunting, the fuzz guitar is awesome… there is nothing to dislike about this track! Earlier this month, Noctum made another stream available, “Liberty in Death.” This, again, is another awesome track.

Those with good ears will likely draw a comparison to Ghost, another doom-inspired band. A better ear will be able to hear how the two bands differ, which I think has to do with the rawness of Noctum versus the more precise sounds of Ghost.
