New Years Day Go “Gangsta”

How often do hard rock/heavy metal bands cover pop songs and do it better than the original? Pretty damn often, if you ask me. Among the latest is New Years Day and their cover of Khelani’s (who?) track, “Gangsta,” which appeared on the Suicide Squad soundtrack.

In the video, frontwoman, Ash Costello, takes on her own personalized version of Suicide Squad’s Harley Quinn.

The track can be found on Punk Goes Pop Volume 7, which is available now on Apple Music, Spotify, and at Target. See below for the album’s performing bands and the songs they’re covering.
